♡ The parable of the wise man who built his house upon the rock! ♡

In Matthew 7:24-27, Jesus tells the parable of the wise man who built his house upon the rock.

" Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who build his house on the rock."

Jesus is telling us that when we hear the Word or read the Word, we can't just do nothing about it nor can we just ignore it. Jesus has given us his Word, God has provided us with the Word. The Word is OUR ROCK! This is what keeps us grounded and still because it gives us WISDOM and GUIDANCE. Through Jesus we are able to be saved and be given the ULTIMATE reward which is EVERLASTING LIFE!
Here, Jesus is telling us that we need to listen to what he is telling us then act on it, we need to apply it to our lives we can't ignore it then carry on doing what ever we want to do. He tells us to 'Put them into practice' for us to be like the wise man, the wise man who is destined for everlasting life, the same wise man who has listened to Jesus and applied it to himself and his life. This is why we need to be like the wise man, and build our house upon the rock because without God we are nothing, we would just crumble, we would be heading straight down the broad road of destruction.

The Foolish Man who built his house on sand
The man who built his house on the sand is like those who have heard the word and still choose to just ignore it and then just proceed being OF the world and evil. All this is leading to is destruction- each and every single time! Think of what sand is, it runs through our fingers, we can't hold on to it, it's weak so how can we expect to build our lives on that sand? The sand being things of this world- the things of this world are nothing, they can just be taken away from you, they're not guaranteed. Sand can sink, and if that's what our foundation is then all we are doing is heading for destruction, as all we will be doing is sinking deeper and deeper into satan's trap because we are living on the lies of the world and the things of it.

The Rock
Where as with a rock, it is hard, strong, stable and doesn't move when rooted in the ground. This is just like how when we have Jesus in our lives and base our lives on the word and God we are rooted into the ground and we are strong and we won't be moved because God is with us.
"God is within her, she will not fail" - Psalm 46:5
When we have God in our lives, we won't fail or fall because he is right there with us, he has his arms wrapped around us keeping us upright and strong like the rock kept the house up. He has the Holy Spirit wrapped around us and filled within us because Jesus lives in our hearts when we accept him and repent of our sins! It's so simple. If you accept him and repent of your sins, God will provide you with the word which shapes you and your life. He will chip at you to make you be more like Jesus with his charateristics, he will throw away the worldly and sinful glasses you had on before and give you brand new ones that make you see the world and people in a completely different way. Peace will be within you and wrapped around you, we will provide you with all you need so just turn to Jesus and repent! Be like the wise man who built his house upon the rock- because that never did fall down but you know whose did? The man who built it on sand.

Ask yourself: Am I the wise man who built my house on the rock or the foolish man who built it on the sand?

Finally: Therefore we must listen to the Word and ACT on God's Word. Through this we will be strong and stable in the storms of life.
